http://shell5.ba.best.com/~cae/irqtune/ mentions IRQ sharing under
2.0.X (and later) kernels and warns that it is a bad idea to share an
IRQ between a serial port and something else (e.g. an ethernet card)
... (because of poor performance, not because it won't work at all).
Ooh, I'll have to check my dmesg as soon as I get home this evening ...
