Re: New install on HP C3750

Hello all, thanks for your answers.

I made some progress on configuring the C3750.

I'm attaching the serial console buffer from bootstrap to login. As I said, this is my first time with Linux-HPPA and also for debian, so if you see something strange please do tell me.

Referring the mirror issue, I searched the net and eventually I found something viable for debian - hppa

now my /etc/apt/sources.list file looks like this:

deb ftp://ftp.debian.de/debian-archive/debian/ lenny main contrib

#deb cdrom:[Debian GNU/Linux 5.0.10 _Lenny_ - Official hppa DVD Binary-1 20120310-16:52]/ lenny contrib main

(I chosed to comment out the dvd because I'm afraid it will give me more reading errors).

I can now use apt-get to install packages (also aptitude works, although I don't know how to use it).

I would love to upgrade to an higher version of debian and linux kernel. Supposing I add in sources.list file some recent source mirros, is there a way to download, compile and install in batch mode?

Thanks, cheers

Paolo
