Hi Andreas,(cutting Cc lists to somewhat close to what we do, Cc-ing Ole directly although I think he is on -science)

While I could talk about Debian Science and Debian Med in general it would be cool to reference to some real life examples where Debian is used in Science and what might be the reason to use Debian.
I think I should be able to contribute some information about using Debian within a HTC environment for Gravitational Wave data analysis.
At both branches of our institute, we are running large compute clusters - some of them Debian - and we should be able to provide some background on why we favor it and what some pitfalls are/were.
We could pool questions/information here or take the discussion off-list and provide a summary on-list later on to have some 'closure' for the archives. I'm open to both.
Someone mentioned to me at the mini DebConf in Berlin over the week-end that CERN is migrating some services to Debian as well (I think it was Ole, please proof me right!).
