Dear Takaki, although some of our packages are in git (mostly because we could not convince John of using Darcs), my large the majority is in darcs, and most of the more active member of the group seem to prefer it. The main advantage is that the darcs repositories are shown on http://pkg-haskell.alioth.debian.org/cgi-bin/pet.cgi and the git ones do not, and personally, I find our darcs approach slimmer and easier to handle than git (no checking out upstream and pristine-tar branches etc.) and more suitable for simple packaging. More difficult stuff with lots of patches etc. _might_ benefit von git, but this is almost never the case with the DHG repositories. Also, mass changes are easier with the Darcs repositories (is that right, Marco, our man for mass changes?) So unless you have a very large dislike for Darcs, I’d strongly suggest to use the Darcs approach.
