I'd be delighted to see a Debian package of ebook2cw in the archives!

It appears to install the man pages and docs/examples to 
/share instead of /usr/share, where it should probably belong.
Therefore it won't find the default config file and copy it to
~/.ebook2cw, and also the man page doesn't work.

Otherwise the program worked as expected, at least with the backports
in the sources.lst, which is required for libmp3lame0, as it seems.
