APT-GET PROBLEM
Using Debian 6 and trying to load the lib type files and this is what
I get. Not sure
why and how to overcome it. the dpkg/lock file is empty. Can anyone
tell me what I
have missed or how I can fix this.
root@ve5da:~# apt-get install libncurses5-dev -y
E: Could not get lock /var/lib/dpkg/lock - open (11: Resource
temporarily unavailable)
E: Unable to lock the administration directory (/var/lib/dpkg/), is
another process using it?
root@ve5da:~#
---------
Well there was lots of suggestions and I tried them all. No cigar!! I
erased that lock file
and nothing.... Then I rebooted, checked to make sure the lock file
was not present, and
tried to load again. No luck. It doesn't matter if I use apt-get in a
script or as a loner.
No cigar... So, it is back to the drawing board. Thanks for all the
help, I do appreciate it.
