New devhelp and what books?
Hello friends,
After a long forced vacation I'm finally getting up-to-date with my Debian
life.
I'm right now updating devhelp to its gnome2 version and I would like to
discuss some issues with this list:
First of all, there are preliminary packages for 0.6.0 at:
deb http://people.debian.org/~kov/debian unstable devhelp
I'll probably upload the fixed books this night, not sure yet.
So here's what I am thinking:
Many gtk2 related packages already provide their .devhelp files. For example
the libgtk2.0-doc package provides the .devhelp for many books.
I earlier provided devhelp-book-gtk2. I am thinking about turning it
into an upgrade package which can then be removed after that.
devhelp-book-gtk2 was carrying a modified .devhelp, because
devhelp 0.4.0 did not understand the new format books.
Also:
There are lots of books I packaged which are related to Gtk1.2 and
GNOME1.4... I'd consider them to be obselete and would like to
drop them (or shade them away). That's even a good way of promoting
the further use of Gtk2 and GNOME2.
Well, my actual list is:
devhelp-book-autotools_0.2-9_all.deb
devhelp-book-binutils_0.2-9_all.deb
devhelp-book-cvs_0.2-9_all.deb
devhelp-book-emacs_0.2-9_all.deb
devhelp-book-gdb_0.2-9_all.deb
devhelp-book-ggad_0.2-9_all.deb
devhelp-book-glibc_0.2-9_all.deb
devhelp-book-gnome_0.2-9_all.deb
devhelp-book-gtk_0.2-9_all.deb
devhelp-book-gtk2_0.2-9_all.deb
devhelp-book-make_0.2-9_all.deb
devhelp-book-pygtk2_0.2-9_all.deb
devhelp-book-python_0.2-9_all.deb
devhelp-books_0.2-9_all.deb
devhelp-book-sdl_0.2-9_all.deb
Which come from some lib*-doc from unstable and:
autoconf-2.53a.tgz cvs.tar.gz gdk-1.2.tar.gz glibc.tar.gz
libart.tar.gz liboaf.tar.gz pygtk-2.0.tar.gz
automake-1.7.tgz emacs.tar.gz gdk-pixbuf.tar.gz gnome-vfs.tar.gz
libglade.tar.gz make.tar.gz python.tar.gz
binutils.tar.gz gconf.tar.gz ggad.tar.gz gobject-2.0.tar.gz
libgnome.tar.gz panel.tar.gz sdl.tar.gz
bonobo.tar.gz gdb.tar.gz glib-1.2.tar.gz gtk-1.2.tar.gz
libgnomeui.tar.gz pong.tar.gz zvt.tar.gz
I also have some new books at hand to package.
Suggestions, questions?
