No crash either. Just lockups and Galeon or Epiphany or Mozilla refusing
to close by themselves.

Same here.
I wondered if the gstreamer-swfdec could be interfering. I removed it
and it didn't change anything.

I'm using a kernel 2.4.21 from Adrian Bunk's repository with no such
patches applied, but built with gcc 3.3.

I get the same problem with other 2.4 kernels compiled by him. I think I
never tried other ones. Do you want me to?
