But it uses all the gnome 1 libraries, does it not ?

I am not really sure about this, but i don't think this is the gdm which
will be part of gnome2.

Also, upstream gdm2 release is currently 2.4.0.9.

This is one more of the many confusing things about this gnome2 issue
which makes a upload of gnome2 to unstable all the more urgent.
