You'd have to ask John Harper about Sawfish, since people working on 'The
GNOME Project' are putting their time into Metacity now.

When it comes to 'configuration capabilities', you're better off lodging
bugs about specific behavioural regressions or feature requests. *Not*
configuration regressions or option requests.

The GNOME lists and bugzilla are good places to find out about this stuff.
