I think both of these metapackages could be useful, even as a single
metapackage for the developer platform. If you could install all of the
platform libraries and their -dev/-doc equivalents in one hit, it would make
life very easy for new GNOME hackers.

  "I want to get started hacking on GNOME stuff."
  "Install the gnome-developer-platform package, and you'll have everything
  you need, docs and all."

I'd love to be able to pimp this for Debian-based GNOME hackers.
