All of the debian users that run gnome use the staging area: the
others need the same instructions, only with a different apt line.

I fixed this in the staging area: some packages were recompiled
with debian revision 0.0.slink... without realizing there was
already a 0.1 package in the area.

Me thinks if you not expose the thing the bugs will never be fixed
(or the packages will never be recompiled).

Now I use rsync: when Guy moves the thing somewhere in ftp.debian.org
we can use mirror or something o like that.

Did you get a timeframe from Guy for the availability of the staging
area through ftp.debian.org?

It's better if you mention the easiest path to the upgrade:
apt-get update
apt-get install gnome-meta* ...
along or instead of the dselect way.
