Package: locales
Version: 2.2.5-11.5

when I typed 'dpkg-reconfigure locales ' to generate some locales
end up with 'UTF-8' and 'GB18030' these big charmaps, the computer
took long time (more than 6 hours, still haven't finished) to generate,
and seemed endless.Compared with above, other charmaps like GB2312,
GBK,EUC-JP,ISO9660-1 only took 3-8 minutes.

I am using Debian GNU/Linux 3.0, kernel 2.4.18-Custom.2
and libc6 2.2.5-11.5
Machine: IBM Thinkpad 345C
Cpu: 486DX
Memory: 7808K=6512K+1296K shared for video memory

I close this Bug because it is a low memory (8 MByte) problem on a=20
486/75MHz Laptop and the time for building the locale is normal.

Greetings
Michelle
