GDAL 2.5.0
The first beta for GDAL 2.5.0 has been released, it requires PROJ >=
6.0.0 & libgeotiff >= 1.5.1 which are both available in experimental,
only OGDI 4.0.0 is not available there yet as it stuck in NEW. Because
of that the OGDI support has been removed to allow the package to build
with PROJ 6.
Because the ABI stability has been pretty good recently, I've dropped
the virtual ABI dependency. Hopefully we won't have to reinstate it for
future releases that break the ABI without bumping the SONAME.
With the Python 2 EOL at the end of the year, I've used this opportunity
to move the Python scripts to the python3-gdal package.
I'm not planning to do any rebuilds for this transition any time soon,
because I'd like to transition to PROJ 6 & libgeotiff 1.5 first. But I
may do so anyway to find out which reverse dependencies break due to the
major changes in this release.
