The freeze date is unrealistic, and it will be delayed at least by one
week according to the RMs.

Is the geos a major upgrade or transition? we have a few packages
depending on it.

I need some testing: I've built the new packages for both geos
and mapserver but I have no time right now to test them. Could you
please have a look at them? Any feedback or suggestion is appreciated.

If I am not wrong, we'll just have to recompile qgis and postgis to
complete the transition to the new geos release.
