The freeze of Debian/Etch is planned for 2006-10-18.  This mean any
upload intended for Etch should have been uploaded 2006-10-08 (last
Sunday) to make it to Etch after the customary 10 day resting period
in unstable.

There are still a few days left until the priority 'medium' upload
deadline, and even a few days left for the priority 'high' upload
deadline, but I doubt any major upgrade or transition can happen now.

After all, we have lacked manpower to properly maintain all the GIS
packages for a long time, and I find it unlikely that the skilled
manpower required to pull of such stunt will materialize in such short
time.
