XFree86 3.3.5 problem

Hi all,

I just finished to download and install XFree86 3.3.5 (*.tgz)
and it refuse to start (libc6 system):

    root@evel:/usr# XF86Setup
    XF86Setup error in loaded shared libraries
    : undefined symbol: __register_frame_info
    
I also saw that '/lib/libc5-compat' was asked by th postinst script,
but skipped because not found.
Unfortunately, all packages containing 'libc5' are installed, so I
don't know if 'libc5-compat' is only a symblink (and if so, on which
file it must point), or if it is a real library (but supplied by which
package?).

If anyone has the clue, please say it.
