Guess I overlooked that.  I didn't even know that apt supported a
copy:// URI.

I figured that something like this was the problem.  But then I'd expect
multistrap to reject any file:// URIs.  With the current behaviour the
mistake isn't immediately visible, it just silently drops the few files
that happen to come from file:// repositories.  

Maybe we should file a bug report demanding file:// to be rejected?
