in your ~/.ssh/config

and then just using 

tla make-archive --mirror miles@gnu.org--gnu-2005 miles@gnu.org--gnu-2005-MIRROR sftp://mirrors.sourcecontrol.net/miles@gnu.org--gnu-2005

should work.
