just upon git push I have seen that Mike had already prepared a jessie
branch with this change and others, so I've dropped my local branch.

So the next step here is a to file a bug against release.debian.org to
ask for a stable update, or do we have other patches which we must have
in jessie now?

oh, and I'd suggest to use 1.819 instead of 1.818+deb8u1… we're already
encoding the 8 in 1._8_19…
