'aptitude why > gnome-session-bin' might explain something. ltsp-server-standalone Depends gnome-session | x-session-manager | x-window- manager There's already x-window-manager as an alternative dependency in tasks/desktop-lxde, but that doesn't seem to work out. Maybe it would be enough to add x-window-manager as a dependency to tasks/desktop-other to avoid pulling in gnome-session if the desktop environment isn't GNOME. Wolfgang
