Are there any setup I miss there?

Hi Hilaire, how are you?

This discussion was held some months ago. I remember that this is partly due to the move from Redhat kernels to genuine Debian kernels that are sent via tftp. There is more hardware detection done and so on.

Another cumbersome side effect is that the mininum amount of RAM has risen to >32 MB. Our partner school in Nairobi has machines with 16 MB only :(
it's perhaps related to the various versions of ltsp running. I know that the more recent versions have quicket boot time
check this page http://wiki.debian.org/DebianEdu/HowTo/LtspBootchart
for a list of different versions and how to make a bootchart for your thin clients.

would be very nice if someone could add a bootchart for the default sarge ltsp to that page.
