"wireless" clients

Dear all

I have discovered that old laptops with pcmcia NICs are not able to boot
from a freshly installed skolelinux terminal server. They are using the
old ltsp3 "wireless" boot floppy. They have been booting from mandrake and
fedora servers running ltsp4.1. I didn't make any special modification to
the ltsp install for these clients on those servers.
They are important to my network for two reasons - they make a compact
ltsp installation, and (most important) they allow a teacher to
simultaneously view his screen and project it for the class.

The boot fails at the pivot root with:

pivot_root: pivot_root: No such file or directory
Mounting the devfs filesystem
Running /sbin/init
exec: /sbin/init: No such file or directory
Kernel panic: Attempted to kill init!

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

thanks!
