the current behaviour is in fact intended.

they are in an other part of the tree after they were deleted.
they are in ou=attic instead of ou=people

moving them away from ou=people removes them effectively from all
program`s access. it is like they were not there, anymore. except
we can get their information in a guranteed way and in the future
add more functionality to archive them and delete them after a
given time, automatically.
