I'm happy you brought this up. Quiet often I see postings where I think "this 
should have been posted as a private mail".

Where is the time difference between posting in private or in public ? I 
believe it's more likely you educate people if you don't offense them in the 
first place. I do think you're quick+dirty post was very much to the point, 
but I also wish I hadn't seen it - I would have missed a somewhat funny mail 
but maybe then the to:-person would have gotten something out of it. 

If you think it's more important to post "the truth" but have absolutly no or 
very little time, write a even shorter mail, stating only the facts - don't 
try to teach at all, just correct. Or don't even bother to write a mail, as 
you have no time :-) 

Or, simple, don't (try to) communicate if you have no time. If you do, it's 
likely you neither get nor convey a message thru.
