We're 2007-11-14, 10 days after your expected date and you have been
quite unavailable lately.

It's somewhat of a pity as Ian has been doing some good work and he
deserves some review so that you can get more confident with him
committing changes directly on the trunk.

I'd like to propose my help integrating Ian's patches, but I'm not
well placed for code reviews on the C part so I would have to mostly
trust him concerning the content (which I think is quite reasonable
in general).

That's required unless we disable the testsuite, since the testsuite is
failing if the installed dpkg is an older version (because the testsuite
calls dpkg-architecture which ends up using the local controllib.pl
instead of the /usr/lib/dpkg/ one).
