Bug#245562: dpkg-divert: no error reported when diverting into unexisting dir, even when --rename is not given
Package: dpkg
Version: 1.10.20
Severity: normal
When diverting to a non-existing dir, one should get an error, expecially
with given --rename, since then dpkg-divert was not able to complete his
job:
# dpkg-divert --package ufoai-skins-phoque --add --rename --divert /usr/lib/games/ufoai/base/backups/names.ufo /usr/lib/games/ufoai/base/ufos/names.ufo; echo $?
Adding `diversion of /usr/lib/games/ufoai/base/ufos/names.ufo to /usr/lib/games/ufoai/base/backups/names.ufo by ufoai-skins-phoque'
0
# ls /usr/lib/games/ufoai/base/backups
ls: /usr/lib/games/ufoai/base/backups: No such file or directory
