Maybe if I have time, I'll check it out. In any case, I'll comment later if
anything goes wrong ;)

Not really. Some packages ship "byhand" files which the FTP admins install
by hand, but in general there's no all-encompassing procedure to updating
that stuff.

Yeah, /doc/docpolicy isn't really authoritative these days, it's just
ancient.
