Debian Documentation: Book Suggestions

This is the text of a mail I would like to send to the debian-devel and
debian-user lists:
==========================================================================
Debian Book Suggestions is one of the manuals proposed for the Debian
Documentation Project that has not yet been written.

In order to kickstart the writing of this manual, I would like everyone
who has a useful suggestion for books connected with Debian or Linux
to send it to ddp-book@debian.org. This is simply a point for
collecting data; if you want discussion, please copy to
debian-doc@lists.debian.org.

This is the data wanted for each suggestion:

Author
Title
Publisher
ISBN (The ISBN is the book's unique, 10 character reference, which
is usually to be found in or near the title page.)
Synopsis (including the reason that you are recommending the book.)-

(The ISBN is the book's unique, 10 character reference, which is usually
to be found in or near the title page.)

All your contributions will be gratefully received.

You may have contributions to make to other parts of the Debian
Documentation Project. Please do not be deterred by lack of skill in
writing; all contributions will be edited to correct mistakes in
English, and may be recast to express their meaning better. However,
we cannot edit something that does not exist!

It seems to me that we ought to be able to set up a webpage to
take the data in standard form and validate it before mailing it to
the suggestions box. Would anyone like to volunteer to do this?

I should also like a volunteer to put together the contributions we receive
into a readable bibliography.

ddp-book@debian.org does not yet exist, so do not mail to it!
