I believe the latter > is unethical. Trying to claim some significant ethical distinction about this subject is basically a purity test. Purity tests are divisive, and lead to witch-hunts, so let's not do that please. I'm confident that nobody reading this would ever spend their time bootlegging Windows, infecting it with viruses, and releasing the result as "Windows 10 for free" in order to steal people's crypto wallets, but somebody somewhere is probably doing something like that right now, and they really are ethically different from us. A difference of opinion about when during an install users should be offered the chance to get their audio working is not something about which one should risk accusing anyone of being unethical. It won't persuade anyone, and since we all know that, the only effect saying it seems likely to have is to make you look a little bit silly. Cheers, Phil. -- Philip Hands -- https://hands.com/~phil
