I disagree, but I wont't play bts ping pong.

Well, there is a bug, and the submitter provided the information
requested. He was never (at least in the bug log) asked to perform
some other commands (except for the language trials, and I understand
that the submitter was reluctant to try that out).

We don't hide bugs, even if we can't solve them.

Yes. Was there an attempt to involve them? Was an appropriate user
group contacted? (Or did a request like this go to the submitter?)

Well, the submitter explicitly tried several consoles, and the problem
appeared in each of them. Also gvim had the problem, unreleated to a
console.

Disappointed.
