FWIW, I'm very disappointed in this thread so far -- everyone in it
seems to be missing between 50 and 90% of the point of my blog post.

Or all debian/rules in make..

Especially when "anything" is something as unusual as "obtain the
complete patched source to a package so one can run make on it".
