Yes it can:
{123456=>#<SOAP::Mapping::Object:0x..fdbd4e882 {}done="Filip Van Raemdonck <mechanix@debian.org>" {}foun
d_versions=[] {}blocks="" {}date=1008091983 {}fixed={"eazel-engine/0.3-1"=>nil} {}fixed_versions=["eazel
-engine/0.3-1"] {}mergedwith="" {}found=#<SOAP::Mapping::Object:0x..fdbd4d180> {}unarchived="" {}blockedby="" {}keywords="" {}msgid="<20011211182922.A19017@lucretia.debian.net>" {}id=123456 {}forwarded="" {}severity="wishlist" {}owner="" {}log_modified=1012335515 {}location="archive" {}originator="Filip Van Raemdonck <mechanix@debian.org>" {}subject="ITP: eazel-engine -- Crux theme for GTK+" {}pending="done" {}tags="" {}fixed_date=[] {}package="wnpp" {}found_date=[]>}

The date attribute returned by get_status should do the trick.
Kind regards
Nico
