It might affect the mirrors, too...
It would only affect the mirrors if they polled (or were pushed) more
frequently; that frequency could remain the same even though packages were
installed more frequently.

That wouldn't do any good though -- the point of this thread is getting quicker feedback from users, which doesn't happen if the only site that gets the updated packages quicker doesn't let anyone download from it.

The other benefits of installing packages more quickly -- working out if you've screwed up the upload, or that they don't build -- already happen in response to the package getting accepted anyway.

So you have to sync the mirrors more often for it to be useful...
