Well they must have some sort of argumentation for why they oppose
it. I know that at one point the mplayer code had some dubious
licensing issues, but is this still the case?

As for the others, can anyone point out where people have made
objections to these packages? And with the recent upload of ffmpeg
make these objections moot?
