While this thread seems to drift into all kinds of silliness let's
return to the real question.

Except for a longer build time there's no real reason to not support
SMP for pentium-class cpus.  Please fill a wishlist bug against the
kernel package so this is archived, but I can't guarantee this will
still happen for sarge.
