The good news is that kernel 2.6 + sysfs + udev + HAL + D-BUS works
nicely, and gnome-volume-manager will happily start gPhoto when you plug
in a digital camera.
gnome-volume-manager is the only part not packaged in sid, and I have
debs nearly ready.
