i had
  --with-qt-includes=/usr/include/qt3
  --with-qt-libraries=/usr/lib 

in there, but I still get the same error if I replace that with
what you wrote above... i can also write /usr/lib/qt3 instead, no
success...

libqt3-compat-headers is already a Build-Depends of the package.

problem status: still unsolved.
