The problem is that if you want to log to files inside the chroot you
should probably run a seporate syslog from inside the chroot and configure
it to only listen on /dev/log (inside the chroot). Also, programs that
start logging outside the chroot will continue to log to that syslog since
the connection is kept open. Using netstat -a -p and lsof may give you a
little more information on who is accessing what.
