 I fail to see what this thread about "maybe say that programs that
output HTML etc. should output valid HTML etc." has to do with the 24
colors of the cmap.xpm?

 Can you please be a little bit more verbose, or send the correct link?

 Is this checked somehow? Like the "failed to overwrite file foo which
is also in package bar" message from conflicting filenames on package
install?
