Uhm, what is the advantage over beep, beside that it can read from stdin instead of using commandline options? Why is a kernel patch needed, the beep package can do it without a patch? IIRC there was another package also with a similar approach but I can't remember its name. Btw., is beep2 based on Johnathan Nightingale's beep or is it something different? If the later I would call the name misleading..... So long! Alfie -- To err is human -- but it feels divine. -- Mae West
