Afaict /etc/X11/Xsession.d/ is managed run-parts /like/ by
/etc/X11/Xsession. Another example might be /sbin/update-modules (I
don't know what "certain classes of files"). How about /etc/devfs/*.d and
/etc/logrotate.d/?
