Getting boot-floppies ready has taken on the order of a year since at
least slink. debian-installer has been going as a project for almost
two years, and is still a *long* way off being ready.

Problems getting the installer ready sure seem like a force of nature
from where I sit.

Seriously, you can philosophise all you want, but that's not going to
change anything. Which is another property of forces of nature, I suppose.
