I have (IMHO) a better idea.

Why not put all descriptive texts into a publicly-accessible wiki where they
could be copy-edited to a consistent standard by those of us who are actually
interested in accomplishing this sort of thing?

Developers could then pick up and include the latest text version of the
description in their next update.

Let's be creative about this; not destructive.
