Yes but Sid is the development of the next Debian-release not the next Mozilla-release. So M1.1beta should only go into sid if it is ready for release with a stable Debian-release.
Mozilla was in Sid before it became version 1.0. For quite some time it seemed that version 0.9x would be included in Woody, even though 1.0 was released. (Some other examples: Sid includes gcc 2.95.4, which was never released. Alsa is still 0.99. And so on.) I think its obvious that the version string alone is not a criteria whether it should be included in Sid. Mozilla 1.1 has been released as beta to make sure that a lot of people have a chance to test it. Since Debian supports 11 platforms (or is it 12?), its a big opportunity for testing. Regards Harri
