Of course it does. AFTER the packages are compiled against versioned
versions of these libs for the first time, you can link both at the same
time without breakage.  And this will hold true for all future [if
versioned] versions of the libs, without the need to recompile the app or
libs.

This is impossible otherwise, unless one uses very very weird black magic,
-Dsymbolic and other non-portable binutils tricks.  I am not even sure all
the archs debian support cope well with -Dsymbolic...
