It wasn't closed, it was tagged "fixed" because the upload looked like
an NMU:

Sponsoring people like this is generally a bad idea imho (because of
bugs not being closed properly).

It was not closed but fixed.  And if you'd have looked at the message
I sent to control@bugs.d.o[0], you'd have seen:
