Then I suggest he writes "sensible-pico"[*] first, adds it to the pico
package, and have pico point its sensible-editor alternative to it.
[*] With sensible-pico being a script which *does* understand -- file,
perhaps by prepending ./ to the argument if it starts with a minus.
