Hi, i will be packaging the libsnmp++ library, a c++ library for snmp related functions. It was originally written by Hewlett Packard. As the snmp library implements the snmpv3 standard it requires a DES library. I have no up-te-date knowledge on DES cryptography restrictions... so i'd like to know if this package should go in the main tree or in the non-US tree? I reckon both packages should go in the non-free section, SNMP++ has no license, or at least i can't find one, until this is cleared i'll assume it's non-free. The des library is free for commercial and non-commercial use, both with a list of conditions... -- Michel Onstein Next Element B.V.
