KDE and Gnome are free to use whatever they want.
I'm talking specifically about icons used by the Debian menu
package that is used by most Window Managers.

However, I don't think /usr/share/doc/menu/menu.txt.gz has the
force of policy.  I will still file bugs at some point (after I
write a script to check compliance with the colormap).

(I use true-color, so I don't care too much about that for
myself.  But some icons are so big I can't use menus correctly in
Enlightenment at geometry 1600x1200)
